Connect Compatibility

Last updated: August 25, 2026

The ranges below are backed by current candidate automation or packaged-product evidence. Platforms not listed are not assumed to be supported.

1. Systems and Devices

ComponentSupported range
MacApple silicon (arm64), macOS 12 or later
iPhoneiOS 16.4 or later
iPadNot currently supported
Intel MacNot currently supported
AndroidBuild regression only; not a public distribution target

2. Third-Party CLIs

ToolVerified version range
Claude Code>=2.1.201 <3.0.0
Codex CLI>=0.144.4 <1.0.0

You install, license, and sign in to Claude Code and the Codex CLI on the Mac. Versions outside these ranges are reported as not yet verified instead of being presented as compatible. If a third-party CLI, account, or service is unavailable, shell and local-file features continue under their own requirements.

3. Network

The Mac and iPhone prefer a Tailscale 100.64.0.0/10 private address. Without Tailscale, they may use a mutually reachable RFC1918 private LAN IPv4 address. Connect binds only to a specific private address and does not support public addresses, wildcard listeners, Tailscale Funnel, public tunnels, UPnP, or NAT port mapping.

IPv6-only networks are not currently supported. Proxies, managed-network policy, sleep, and firewalls may affect device reachability.

4. Languages and Permissions

The interface supports Simplified Chinese, English, and following the system language. iPhone pairing requires Camera and Local Network access; denied access can be restored in system settings. Starting a workspace on the Mac also requires Workspace Trust for its real path.

5. Known Boundaries

  • The iPhone is a companion and cannot run tasks without a running, reachable Connect Mac app.
  • Mobile control is unavailable while the Mac sleeps, Connect is not running, or the private network is interrupted.
  • Connect does not provide or guarantee Claude, Codex, or Tailscale accounts, subscriptions, networks, or availability.
  • The final App Store treatment of remote Tailscale use depends on actual App Review results.
