Connect Support

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Connect is a local-first tool driven by your own Mac. The iPhone companion requires a running Connect Mac app and cannot run Claude, Codex, or a shell by itself.

1. Contact Support

Support email: w494892858@gmail.com

Include your Connect version, macOS or iOS version, device model, the actions immediately before the problem, and the complete on-screen error. Attach only screenshots or logs directly relevant to the issue. Do not send passwords, tokens, private keys, or unnecessary project files.

This site and the Mac download are hosted on GitHub Pages. Access to that domain has long been unreliable from mainland China, so you may need to arrange your own network conditions to open this page or download the Mac version. The same applies to Claude Code, Codex CLI, and Tailscale — they are third-party services you install and sign in to yourself, and their reachability is not determined by Connect.

2. Common Issues

SymptomTry this first
Claude or Codex will not start on the MacRun detection again in Settings > Environment and Capabilities, then use a real terminal to install, finish first-use setup, or sign in to that CLI
The iPhone cannot find the MacMake sure the Mac is awake and Connect is running; both devices must be reachable through the same Tailscale private network or a mutually reachable LAN
Pairing failsEnable mobile control in Mac settings and refresh the QR code; scan again and confirm only if the short authentication string matches exactly on both devices
Connected but unable to typeNew devices are read-only; explicitly grant write access from the paired-device list on the Mac
Camera or local-network access was deniedRestore the Camera or Local Network permission for Connect in iPhone Settings, then return and retry
A project is browse-onlyOn the Mac, confirm its real path and complete Workspace Trust; the phone cannot make trust decisions for the Mac

3. Claude, Codex, and Tailscale

Claude Code, the Codex CLI, and Tailscale are independent third-party services that you install, sign in to, and manage. Connect does not provide their accounts, subscriptions, models, or network service and cannot reset passwords, issue refunds, or change provider account settings. Contact the relevant provider for account, billing, and service-availability issues.

4. Mobile Connection and Security

Mobile control is off by default and binds only to a specific Tailscale or private LAN address. Connect does not support public addresses, Funnel, public tunnels, UPnP, or NAT port mapping. New devices are read-only. Pairing, write access, revocation, and Workspace Trust must be completed on the Mac. If the Mac sleeps, Connect quits, or the network is unreachable, the iPhone reports that state and stops sending commands.

5. Local Data and Deletion

Workspace files remain where you selected them. Closing a terminal ends its PTY. Room history, settings, pairing records, and audit data are stored in Mac app data. To remove them completely, first clear records you no longer need in the app, then use Finder's Go to Folder and remove ~/Library/Application Support/connect. This does not delete original workspaces or third-party account data.

See the Privacy Policy for the complete data boundary.

6. Supported Environments

See Compatibility for the current public support range. You may report behavior outside that range, but it is not promised until verified. Connect is not an emergency service and does not provide a service-level guarantee for third-party accounts, networks, or model output.
